Operation Take Time To Honor is a combined effort of Southeastern Military Academy and The Road to Victory Military Museum. The Memorial is comprised of over 2,300 markers which were hand made by Cadets at the Academy and community volunteers.

Each Cross and Star of David represents an American soldier, sailor, airmen, marine, merchant marine or coast guardsman who lost their lives engaged in the fight for freedom between WWI and present day, who resided in of Florida. This year the Memorial includes service members from: Volusia, Monroe, Martin, St Lucie, Indian River, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, Brevard, Broward, Collier, Lee, Hendry and Dade counties.

The 2010 Memorial runs from May 28 through May 31 and is located in Memorial Park, Stuart, Florida. The grounds will be transformed into a scene that resembles Arlington National Commentary, and will be open to the public 24 hours a day from 4:00 PM on May 28 through 3:00 PM on May 31.

Did you know…

• It will take over 1800 man-hours to erect the memorial markers in Memorial Park
• Starting Friday 28 May at 4:00 PM, two uniformed cadets or volunteers will be on post at the entryway, around the clock, rain or shine until the Memorial grounds close on Monday the 31st of May at 3:00 PM
• Individual sponsorships start as low as $100.00, clubs or service groups can sponsor a row of markers for as little as $250.00 and corporate sponsorships begin at $500.00 and go up to $18,000.00 to sponsor the entire expense of Operation “Take Time to Honor”.
• In Kind donations of building supplies, tools and food & drinks will also make a positive difference.

Southeastern Military Academy and The Road to Victory Military Museum are once again endeavoring to bring the “Memorial” back into Memorial Day by erecting Crosses and Stars of David, all painted white, for a touching tribute to the thousands of Florida soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen and coast guardsmen who have given their lives in defense of our freedom.

Take Time to Honor is our way to remember the brave military personnel who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms. This three day event is a solemn occasion to commemorate their bravery. We would be honored to have YOU join us and become a part of this touching community tribute.
